11/21/2023 0 Comments Jenny leclue detectivu sequel![]() Nevertheless, the story isn’t without fault. Throughout Jenny’s adventure, there’ll be several comic relief to reset the clock and break the tension, so that the player isn’t inundated and exhausted by it. The tone of the story treads very carefully between serious and funny. In addition, Jenny has all the time she needs to go through an arduous adventure solving a mystery lying in the heart of Arthurton, and it was one hell of an adventure. The upside to this is the game’s main conflict is not sudden and out-of-nowhere like Night in the Woods. Due to the short intro, we haven’t connected with the side characters, so when the plot kicks in and uses them as a reason for why you’re doing what you’re doing, it fell flat. In comparison, Night in the Woods takes about one-half of its 8.5 hours duration to start its conflict and Life is Strange takes 6.5 of its 16 hours duration for introduction. ![]() This game takes no time for introduction and instead jumps right into the action, with only 2 hours for you to get acclimated with Arthurton, your mother, your best friend, etc., approximately less than one-fifth of the game’s runtime. Nevertheless, the voice acting is superb and gives an extra punch to its great dialogue. It’s crazy to think that this game originally doesn’t have voice acting for the game would’ve been much more dull and boring without it. Voice acting was only added because they were able to reach the voice acting stretch goal and wasn’t even in the game until July of 2020. The 2 conflicting personality checks one another and makes for interesting conversations. On one hand, you have Arthur who is averse to adventure and on the other hand, you have Jenny who yearns for it. The banter between Jenny and Arthur is especially unique. Another example is when Jenny was talking with a grave digger. The example in the previous paragraph clearly shows this. I was chuckling or even outright laughing numerous times over the conversation between the characters. Although it doesn’t happen too often, it’s still annoying. I had chosen to not do something but the game forced me to do it anyway, presumably for advancing the plot. However, there are several instances where the game outright disregard my option. That deduction was correct, you know why? Because that girl ended up crying and going home right after that. She deduced that the girl’s father slept with her classmate’s mother, and she said that to the girl’s face. I chose the latter and Jenny held no punches. After analyzing her, I was given the option to either be mean or be really mean. One great example of this is when Jenny clapped back against a stereotypical mean girl. But unlike Fallout 4, the summary is accurate. First, it can only be used when the game indicates that there is something you can find nearby, which doesn’t make sense, the point of finding clues is that we don’t know where or what they are. The magnifying glass mechanic that’s supposed to be used to find things of interest is criminally underutilized and kinda awful. The sound of the environment is really convincing, from grass being stepped on to owls hooting in the distance, the tense music playing during the adventure also gives you a feeling of unease and suspense. Outside of that though, the music and sound effects carry the atmosphere. It really broke my immersion.Įven stranger is that there’s a serious heart-to-heart in that part of the game, and during the conversation, the music changes to a more serious tone, but then when the conversation ends, it goes straight back to the main soundtrack. What’s even weirder is that they play an ominous creepy sound over it (because you’re in a creepy setting at the time). It was baffling to me, I thought the game was bugged. There’s this one part of the game where the tone should be somber and tragic, but then they play the main soundtrack in the background, which doesn’t fit that description at all. ![]() ![]() It captures the quiet small town vibes of Arthuron perfectly, a happy but dull tone, but it sounds somewhat generic and a wee bit too similar to the royalty-free music you hear on Youtube vlogs circa 2014. The game’s main soundtrack though gets a Steam rating of mostly positive from me. Objects in the foreground, parallax effect, and non-static camera adds to the immersion immensely.
